Designed for families that are already working with an architect, building designer, draftsperson, or a builder and need help locking in all the selections for your home.

We completely understand how easy it is to feel overwhelmed about where to start with your selections for your home. Every tile looks the same, there are so many different taps on the market and with all the pictures of beautiful homes out there on social media it’s easy to feel lost and confused on what particular product you should implement in your home.

Don’t worry, we have got you covered! We’ll help condense everything down into one cohesive document that captures your project vision, design aesthetic and the selections that go with it.

Across 3 x 2-hour meetings, we’ll get to the heart of what you value in your home, and echo it through your bespoke sketch plans, sketches, recommendations and selections.

You’ll leave this experience with a custom-made Design Story Book that translates the intangible feeling of your home into a practical design roadmap that you can refer to again and again as your home’s story evolves. And your selections schedule to go with it.

Our Design Story Book meetings are currently offered virtually (hosted on Zoom) if you are on the east coast and in person if you are in Perth, which means that you can work with us no matter where you are across Australia. Prior to our meeting you’ll receive an email checklist outlining all the information you will need to send to us before our meeting takes place.

The Details

The Design Story Book

We will have three (3) x two (2) hour design sessions where together, we will create a clear brief and vision for your home and lock in the interior selections for your home. We make sure that your selections not only align with how you want your home to look and feel, but that they support your family’s lifestyle and how you want to live in your new home.

THIS INCLUDES:

Three 2 hour meetings, held over 4-6 weeks.
- In meeting 1 we’ll uncover your design direction, review your current design, offer design suggestions and start talking about how your interior spaces are going to look.
- In meeting two we’ll present the design options & HNIS selection recommendations.
- In meeting three we will review and make any final amendments.

Your design story book.
This is the “pretty” pack that takes you room by room and explains the look, feel and finishes in a visual, easy to understand way. It includes:
- Relevant inspiration imagery to express the design.
- General finish recommendations.
- Kitchen cabinetwork finish, appliance & tapware recommendations.
- Bathroom & laundry cabinetwork finish, appliance & tapware recommendations.

A selection schedule that specifies your main finishes for your home in a room by room format. Selections include:
- Wall, floor and ceiling finishes.
- Cabinetwork finishes.
- Interior doors & handle finishes.
- Skirting and cornices.
- Feature lighting (full architectural lighting design is not included within this package).
During each meeting if you have a set of drawings for your home, we will offer suggestions and create hand drawn sketches where needed to bring the design in line with your vision for your home. With a focus on function first, we will interrogate your design and offer advice on how and where you should make adjustments to your plans / spaces.
One 30 minute follow up meeting. This follow up meeting gives you the opportunity to discuss any questions or ideas that may have arisen since we last met, or anything raised by your architect and / or builder.

Kitchen Design Story Book

We love kitchens here at HNIS and today our kitchens are the heart of the home.

More and more we entertain in and around our kitchens. They are a place where we come together as a family and gather for food, homework, coffee and other everyday life activities. And because most kitchens are a part of your main living spaces, they play a big part in how our home looks and feels.

From planning to selecting all the finishes, to working out your appliances, lighting, ceilings and all the PowerPoints you need, we’ll work with you to completely design, draw, detail and bring your kitchen to life. We will be involved every step of the way to make sure your kitchen comes together perfectly.

If you are located in the Perth Metro area, we will work with you in person, come to your home and assist with builder or cabinetmaker engagement, because we have a list of people that we work with who we know and trust.

If you are in regional WA or anywhere else in Australia, we will meet virtually (we have been doing this since 2020 and have delivered 18 beautiful homes this way), and once the design has been completed we will assist in helping to find a cabinetmaker or builder for your home and communicate with your builder/cabinetmaker as required to make sure your kitchen comes to life as expected — should you wish us to come and visit your home in person, we will charge this as an additional fee to cover our travel costs and time.

Our Kitchen Design Packages will take approximately 8-12 weeks from our first meeting to delivery of our final documentation set.

This service begins with a two (2) hour meeting to establish your design brief and measure your space (if an existing home and located in WA).

We will then work through the design of your kitchen and prepare concept package that includes the look and feel of your new kitchen as well as sketch drawings and basic 3D views of your kitchen.

Your final documentation package will include:

A complete set of drawings.
A selection schedule specifying all the selections for your kitchen.
Builder/cabinetmaker recommendations.
We will work with your builder/cabinetmaker when the project is on-site to answer questions and assist in bringing your new kitchen to life.

Following the completion of the documentation package, we will assist in selecting your builder and / or cabinetmaker and will work with your construction team during the creation of your kitchen where we will answer questions and attend site regularly to check progress.

Once your kitchen is complete we will style your space and have it photographed.

Once your order is processed, you’ll be sent an email with a link to a book in your first session with Helena.
